Day By Day Itinerary
Day 1 : Nairobi - Lewa Downs
You will be collected from Jomo Kenyatta airport or from your Nairobi city centre hotel and transferred to Wilson airport for your morning flight from Nairobi to the Lewa Downs Conservancy. Flight departs Nairobi at 0800hrs and arrives into Lewa at 0855. Upon arrival you will be met by a camp vehicle and transferred to the camp. After lunch there will be afternoon game activities and night game drive.
Overnight Lewa Safari Camp on full board basis, including soft drinks, beer, house wine and laundry and activities.
Lewa Safari Camp
The Safari Camp (the old Rhino sanctuary head quarters) with its lush green lawns, a large pool and tented accommodation, provides visitors with an insight to conservation and wildlife management at its best. Although under the not for profit umbrella, the Safari Camp spares no comforts on the home front. A visit to Lewa provides extraordinary game viewing, comfort, and many varied activities, and also a chance to witness and participate in a successfully working conservation programme. The camp can sleep 26 guests and comprises nine twin rooms, one double and two family/triple tents, all with en suite bathrooms hot and cold running water and flush toilets. Lewa’s a total success story and guests have an almost exclusive access to an area teeming with a variety of exciting wildlife. Famous for endangered species such as rhino (about 100, which Lewa is probably best known for) and Grevy’s zebra (17% of the world's population). There are a myriad of other species including lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, elephant, buffalo, zebra, eland and much more. Bird enthusiasts marvel at more then four hundred identified bird species, some rare, others abundant, all beautiful.
Days 2 and 3 : Lewa Downs
The following two days will be filled with activities on the conservancy.
Overnight Lewa Safari Camp on full board basis, including soft drinks, beer, house wine and laundry and activities.
Day 4 : Lewa - Shaba
After breakfast you will transfer to Lewa airstrip for your charter flight to the camp. On arrival you will be met by a driver guide and taken to the camp. After lunch and perhaps a siesta, enjoy the list of activities available from here, these include day and night game drives, bush walks, and bush meals.

Joys Camp - Shaba
An elegant oasis in the arid lands of Samburu; Joy’s Camp is built on the site of Joy Adamson’s tented home in Shaba National Reserve. The site was also home to Penny the leopard, the heroine of her last book. The 10 chic canvas bedrooms are set raised off the ground with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. The camp overlooks a large natural spring where elephant and lion jostle for watering rights with herds of buffalo and the rare desert species of Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe and Grevy’s Zebra. Each sumptuous tent is uniquely decorated with Boran/Somali cloth design, handmade glass and the vibrant fabrics of the local nomadic tribes creating a chic, sophisticated and stylish camp. Each tent has it’s own private verandah, ideal for private game viewing as well as relaxing, reading and soaking up the truly wild environs offered by Shaba. The eastern corner of the Samburu eco-system, Shaba is a secluded idyll; an arid landscape dotted with lush springs and rocky river gorges. Joy’s Camp is the perfect choice for discerning guests interested in a glimpse of Kenyan history, as well as those looking for an authentic wildlife experience combined with the comfort of a luxury-tented camp.
Day 5 : Shaba
Morning and afternoon of activities.

Day 6 : Shaba - Masai Mara
After an early morning game drive, continue to Shaba airstrip and take your scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. Flight departs Shaba at 0910hrs and arrives into the Masai Mara at 1100hrs. Upon arrival you will be met by camps vehicles and be taken for lunch, followed by afternoon of game activities.

Elephant Pepper Camp
This traditional safari camp is idyllic: shaded by an indigenous forest of mature trees the camp looks out on to an endless vista of plains game and the open plains characteristic of the world’s most sought after game reserve. The 8 traditional safari tents are very comfortable and spacious with en-suite hot showers and flush toilets. Evenings by the campfire overlooking the plains, lit only by the soft glow of hurricane lamps and dinner under the stars are a special feature. Here you leave the modern world behind and relax with nature, no generators, no vehicles passing, just the sights and sounds of the bush... Everything is included here and activities range from day and night game drives and walking safaris.
Day 7 and 8: Masai Mara
The following two days are filled with morning and afternoon activities.

Day 9: Mara - Nairobi
After breakfast and an early morning game drive, you will continue to the airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Nairobi. Flight departs Masai Mara at 1100hrs and arrives into Nairobi Wilson airport at 1215hrs. Upon arrival at Wilson airport you will be met and transferred for your onward travel arrangements to the city centre hotel or Nairobi JKIA airport.
