Day By Day Itinerary Day 1 : Nairobi - Amboseli National Park Depart from Nairobi to Amboseli on the morning scheduled flight. Flight departs Nairobi at 0730hrs and arrives into Amboseli at 0810hrs. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by a guide from camp and transferred to camp with a game drive en route. After lunch and a siesta, you depart on an afternoon game activity, either a game drive or a walking safari, returning to camp late afternoon. Overnight at Tortilis Camp on a full board basis, includes all soft drinks, beers, house wines, guided walks, bush breakfast and laundry.
Tortilis Camp Tortilis lies in unspoilt woodland on the edge of Amboseli National Park. The main lodge is open sided, where guests can relax and gaze out towards the soaring snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro , a great place for sundowners and enjoying delicious Italian food! Luxury thatch roofed tents are scattered among acacia and comprise of a stone veranda, elegant bathrooms, king size beds and many traditional decorations. Tortilis also provide interesting nature walks guided by local Masai. These are fascinating, as local traditions and medicinal/folk lore are heartily discussed. Within Amboseli, the elephants are very habituated to people (it is the site of the longest running elephant study in the world) and visitors may relax here, to observe the herds. There are also lion, a high concentration of hyena, Cape buffalo, waterbuck and serval among many others. With over four hundred bird species including flamingo, a variety of waders and one weaver particular to Amboseli, the birding is excellent.
Day 2: Amboseli National Park Early morning and afternoon game activities. Overnight at Tortilis Camp on a full board basis includes all soft drinks, beers, house wines, guided walks, bush breakfast and laundry.
Day 3: Amboseli National Park - Meru National Park After breakfast, you’ll catch the morning scheduled flight to Meru via Nairobi. Flight departs Amboseli at 0820hrs and arrives Meru at 1025. On arrival in Meru you’ll be met by a guide and transferred to camp. After lunch and time to relax, the remainder of the day will be spent on a game drive or walking safari or enjoying any of the other activities offered here. Overnight at Elsa’s Kopje on a full board basis, includes, laundry, bush breakfast/lunch, soft drinks, beers, house wines & non-luxury spirits and fishing
Elsa's Kopje Named for Elsa the orphaned lioness reared by George and Joy, this private hideaway is perched on top of Mugwongo Hill, the site of George Adamson's first camp. This park is renowned for its low rainfall, yet at the same time thirteen rivers and numerous streams run off the nearby mountains to provide an arid landscape laced with ribbons of green. From your cottage you will enjoy a 270-degree view of the surrounding park with its scattered kopjes and mysterious baobab trees. The open plan rooms are individually designed, incorporating the rocks into the structure. Traditional African-made furniture, bright ikat fabrics and whitewashed walls are simple yet superbly comfortable and stylishly effective. There is a swimming pool, game drives (day and night note KWS activity charge for night game drives payable directly) are in open 4x4 vehicles and walks are accompanied by a knowledgeable naturalist. The food is of a very high standard and the service excellent.

Day 5: Meru National Park - Laikipia After an early breakfast you’ll depart by Tropic air flight to Loisaba. Flight departs Meru at 0830hrs and arrives into Loisaba airstrip at approx 0920hrs. From here, you’ll be met by a guide and transferred to the lodge. After lunch and time to relax, the remainder of the day will be spent on a game drive or walking safari or enjoying any of the other activities offered here. Overnight at Sabuk Lodge on a full board basis includes, laundry, bush breakfast/lunch, soft drinks, beers, house wines & non-luxury spirits and fishing & cultural visits
Sabuk Lodge Sabuk is set in a stunning wilderness area, perched on the high banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in the Northern Frontier District, overlooking the Laikipia Plateau. The lodge has just 5 rondavels (open sided cottages) with a veranda, shower and toilet, and a fabulous view. Its delicately fashioned into the hillside using local materials. This hilly area with dense acacia bush is host to a lot of game which varies according to the season: including greater kudu, reticulated giraffe, buffalo, impala, elephant, warthog, klipspringer, zebra, eland, dik dik, waterbuck, lion, leopard and good bird watching. Walk with a professional safari guide and a team of trained Laikipiak Maasai warriors as your guides. There will not be any other tourists here, only wildlife and their tracks, breathtaking scenery and the sounds of the bush. Each trip is tailor-made to suit the group and includes all non imported drinks and excellent cuisine. Also of interest are camel safaris.
Day 6 : Laikipia Plains Early morning and afternoon game activities. Overnight at Sabuk Lodge on a full board basis includes, laundry, bush breakfast/lunch, soft drinks, beers, house wines & non-luxury spirits and fishing & cultural visits. Day 7 : Laikipia Plains - Masai Mara Game Reserve Following breakfast, transfer to Loisaba airstrip for Tropic Air flight to the Masai Mara. Flight departs Loisaba at 0930hrs and arrives into Masai Mara at approx 1035hrs. On arrival at the airstrip you’ll be met by a guide from camp who will transfer you to camp with a game drive en route. After lunch there will be a game drive returning to camp as the sun sets. Overnight at Richards Camp on a full board basis includes laundry, bush breakfast/lunch, soft drinks, beers, house wines & non-luxury spirits, guided walks and night game drives.
Day 8 : Masai Mara Game Reserve Today will be spent on various game activities depending on the local game movements. These will be tailored around your requirements. Richards Camp - Masai Mara Richard’s Camp is a traditional tented camp in true African safari style with a few modern surprises. Each individually decorated tent has either twin or double beds with triple rooms available for families upon request. The solar system provides clean, silent power and 24-hour light to all the tents. All of the 7 large and spacious custom-designed tents feature an en-suite flush toilet and shower - rarely has sleeping under canvas been made so comfortable. As the weather almost always permits, meals are most often enjoyed outdoors under Kenyan skies. During those rare rainy or chilly evenings, dining moves indoors, adjacent to the beautiful, cosy sitting room with a roaring fire. Enjoy flopping on the sofa to read or just relax. At the end of the day, guests can indulge in an open-air Victorian bath tucked away in the forest, surrounded by flickering candles and the sounds of the bush. Day 9: Masai Mara Game Reserve - Nairobi Early morning game activity followed by breakfast and then board a scheduled flight back to Nairobi. Flight departs Masai Mara at 1100hrs and arrives into Nairobi at 1215hrs. On arrival at Nairobi Wilson Airport you will be transferred to your city centre hotel or to the International airport.
