"We are back from our adventure. We had a marvelous time: loved Namibia, train personnel were responsive to passengers' needs, and the guides were nothing short of fabulous. We can't say enough about how informative, friendly and competent they were. The South Africa part of the trip was also great. We were so pleased that our airplane seats were always in the rows of two-only sets. Thank you especially for monitoring that arrangement. It definitely made the long journey tolerable. Good weather held throughout the trip! "Our trip to South Africa was absolutely wonderful! I doubt anyone could have had a vacation as close to perfect as we did. We were very pleased with the arrangements you and I worked on. South African Airlines, Delta (US), British Airways and Delta (as in Okevango Delta) were all highly professional, well-run, safe and courteous. Chobe was heaven! We loved our accommodations! We loved the staff! We thoroughly enjoyed the schedule they laid out for us. And we liked the fact that the game drives and river tour were already incorporated in the rate. We had the same guide for all our outings and she was very personable and knowledgeable. Camp Okavango was fun. Again, the accommodations were superb, given that it was a camp. We felt quite pampered. The staff were great and our particular guide, Partner, was the best. Listening to what others learned and saw on their outings, we believe Partner was head and shoulders above the rest in terms of his knowledge and ability to teach. I would highly recommend Okavango as an experience and I would return in a minute. Perhaps the best part of the week in Zimbabwe and Botswana was that there was someone to greet us and guide us every step of the way. We were welcomed in airports, guided through border crossings, made comfortable with water, juice and shade. It was very well organized. Eddie, thanks for all the work you put into making our trip as special as it was. I will recommend you to other friends and family for their African travels and we will certainly be in touch. Particularly considering how many activities we crammed into two weeks, we had a marvelous experience. Travel on BA and SAA was quite pleasant. The World Traveller Plus class is the way to go. British Tours provided a congenial and knowledgable guide for our two, three hour tours of London. The Goring and Mount Nelson are known quantities and lived up to their star billings. We thoroughly enjoyed the spacious accommodations, food, and service at Lake Pleasant, which served as an ideal base for exploring Knysna. Shamwari and RiverBend were outstanding in all respects. We were lucky to have ideal weather every day, but the day of our departure. We saw the Big Five and virtually all other wild animals in abundance. The Nissan SUV proved perfect for our needs. George and Family, WA - Garden Route self drive trip - July 2006 The honeymoon was great!! We had a terrific time at all three locations. The transfers were all smooth and the staff service throughout was amazing. The airline actually lost one of our bags when we first arrived in Cape Town, but the hotel staff at the Arabella were great in helping out with that. The complimentary breakfast at the Arabella was also especially good I thought. "We absolutely adored Africa. We thought it was the most beautiful place on earth and cannot wait to go back! The hotel in Joburg was great. They decorated our suite and had champagne waiting for us when we arrived. Zambia was a favorite of mine. The Royal Livingstone was perfect and the service was outstanding. Our room was great with a view of the Zambezi. White water rafting was really fun and the company we went with was very professional. Kate and Peter, MN - South Africa and Zambia Honeymoon - October 2006 "Jim and I had a great trip. Hadn't realized that South Africa was such a beautiful country Just missed the rain; but, first day of the Safari was very cold. Enjoyed Lalibela. We saw three lions, 17 elephants (both herds), five hippos, two of the three remaining ostriches, three rhinos, a couple monkeys, several giraffs, tons of impalas, birds, zebra including one baby, and much more that I probably can't remember. Francis was an excellent ranger. "The trip was WONDERFUL!!!!! Everything was absolutely perfect. It could not have gone better. Our guide was great, and we saw the " big 5". We also took a day trip to Lesotho which was cool. The ride through the garden route was interesting. We feel in love with Africa, and will return again. We saw plenty of animals including the big five and the very rare black rhino. Our ranger told us that it was the first time he saw the black rhino also. My daughter made the comment that this was her best vacation ever. And both my children are asking that we go back next year. The two-bedroom suite at Radisson was spacious and the view was un-believable. We're able to see sunrise and sunset from our balcony everyday. Tinga was exquisite. The setting was beautiful and the personalized service was unmatched. Sabi Sabi is larger in scale and it was good too. The ranger at Sabi Sabi was very knowledgeable and was able to take us very close to the animals. And we saw leopards many times there." It was so relaxing to have everything planned a head of time and to not worry about renting a car and doing the driving. The guides were very informative and congenial. We loved Bongani Lodge. We saw many wildlife - elephants, lions chasing a zebra, white rhinos, giraffes, impalas etc. We did not see a leopard which had been in the area a week earlier. Again the guides were very informative and jovial. The food at the lodge was outstanding. However, we heard that the lodge has been bought and will be closed for eighteen months to two years. If will reopen as a five star lodge. We loved the lodge just as it was and hate to see it become a very fancy lodge. We will highly recommend Travelspark to anyone we know who is planning to go to Africa. We saw all existing animals in the Kruger Park. 5 hours every day in a jeep. They took really good care of us. Surprises, weather relatively cold being their summer and no insects (comparable to Australia). The country is beautiful! We should have taken your advice to only stay 2 nights at Arabelle in Capetown with two nights in the wine area instead. It was perfect to finish the trip with Singita, the biggest experience.
